Job Title: Jesters Theatre Program Manager 

Reports to: Jesters Artistic Director

Classification: Full-time, (30-40 hours/week)

Flowing out of the mission of Jesus, Greater Vancouver Youth Unlimited relationally engages in holistic work (physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual) with vulnerable youth in partnership with the church and the community.  


General Description:
As Program Manager, you are responsible for the practical implementation of our programming and coordinating our seasonal staff and volunteers in associated tasks. You are also responsible for personal partner development, participating in fundraisers, training students, participating in the implementation of strategic plans and guiding principles, and maintaining clear relationships and communications with families involved in our programming. The Program Manager understands the vision of Jesters Theatre being a safe place to love theatre and will carry out their tasks with this in mind. Training is provided as needed. Our current office is located at Cedar Valley Church in Mission.

  • Are comfortable with raising funds and financial stewardship
  • Are able to take initiative and work in a team environment
  • Are trust-worthy, savvy and professional
  • Have an understanding of, and appreciation for theatre
  • Good communication skills, particularly in writing and in partner/donor presentations
  • Project design experience
  • Good planning, organizing, and prioritizing skills, and can coordinate multiple programs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, sound judgment, integrity, and reliability
  • Budgeting experience

Working conditions

  • Meeting youth and adults in public places
  • Developing and maintaining positive and healthy relationships with community partners, other staff, and youth
  • Use of own vehicle or public transit to travel to required locations
  • Coordinating summer staff, interns, and volunteers.
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships with individuals, schools, and community organizations
  • Recruiting and equipping potential volunteers and student leaders, training them and giving responsibility to them.
  • Occasional evening work, weekend work, day trips, and extended trips
  • Salary, expenses, and benefits (if applicable) are all raised by the applicant, with Youth Unlimited support and training. Partial funding may be supplied through grants and partnerships. Please discuss with us!
