engages in holistic work (physical, emotional, mental, social and spiritual) with
vulnerable youth in partnership with the church and the community. We care deeply

General Description
Youth Unlimited in Maple Ridge, in partnership with St. George’s Church,
is hiring a youth pastor/worker to lead a group of volunteers and youth in
serving and building genuine long term relationships with youth and their families in
Maple Ridge and St. George’s Church by getting involved in their daily lives, helping
in schools, being present in their community, and providing ongoing in-depth
discipleship. The aim is for these youth and their families to experience
transformation through a relationship with Jesus, integration into the St. George’s
Church family or another local church, and serve within their community.
What must the candidate possess to thrive in the position?
● Compassion and drive to advocate and care for youth and their families
● A genuine relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for helping youth
connect with their Creator and hope in Jesus
● Professionalism in verbal and written communication
● Consistency and boldness in engaging a wide network of financial and
community partners
● Leadership skills, especially in leading small groups of volunteers or
youth
● Comfort and confidence in relating to a wide range of youth (ideally,
from past experience)
● Ability to work in harmony with Youth Unlimited’s existing staff team
● Ability to work in team and independently, while being a highly efficient
time manager
● Ability to plan and coordinate meetings, small groups, and events

personal spiritual retreats and marriage retreats at our own retreat centre
on Vancouver Island! We also hold national (every 3 yrs) and annual
regional retreats across Canada and monthly personal prayer days
● YU staff, volunteers and the St. George’s Church community are excited
to work with you to develop and maintain partnerships with individuals,
public schools, and community organizations
● Occasional evening work, weekend work, day trips, and extended trips
● You will primarily work in one or two schools, the church building, local
coffee shops, and places where youth can be easily found in Maple
Ridge
● You will receive regular and direct supervision, coaching, and
encouragement from an experienced youth worker who will also serve
alongside you in ministry
● You will attend weekly team/prayer meetings and “5th Thursday” fun
events with Maple Ridge YU and monthly training with Greater
Vancouver YU. Additionally, there is a credentialing training program
provided and money set aside for your development that is specific to
your needs and interests
● This is a missionary position and its decidedly life-changing (in a good
way) to build partnerships with your personal networks for part of your
financial and all of your prayer needs. Training and support is provided
by experienced and successful staff at Youth Unlimited.
Youth Unlimited salaries are set by a board of directors and our frontlines salaries are
at the upper levels of industry standards. Youth Unlimited staff receive strong support.
