General Description:
Working in cooperation with the Director of Support Services and other Central Office staff, the office manager works to promote a structured, professional, and friendly office environment. They help the office run efficiently through a wide range of tasks and requests, while both greeting the public and working alongside GVYU's diverse staff. They have deep knowledge of Central Office space, and are able to effectively direct and coordinate the space while improving operational efficiency.
 
What must the candidate possess to thrive in the position?

  • Professionalism in verbal and written communication
  • Ability to greet and direct public to appropriate staff or area
  • Compiling lists, events, and the GVYU informational calendar
  • Proficiency in producing written content/newsletters
  • Ability to coordinate the orders of office supplies (stationary, canteen refills, etc)
  • Desire to work in harmony with Youth Unlimited’s existing staff team: they are the 'go-to' person of the Central Office space
  • Ability to work in team and independently, while being a highly efficient time manager
  • Competency to plan and coordinate meetings, small groups, and events
 
Working conditions

  • Working in Central Office (Surrey) 5 days/week
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers, partners, repair technicians, and other office collaborators
  • Collaborating with other Central staff, Greater Vancouver staff, volunteers and community partners
  • Occasional evening work, weekend work, day trips, and extended trips

Youth Unlimited salaries are set by a board of directors and our frontlines salaries are at the upper levels of industry standards. Youth Unlimited staff receive strong support. Average staff retainment is more than 10 years.
